Ideiasnet sells Braspag to the Silvio Santos Group

Ideiasnet has just carried out its first relevant sale of one of its portfolio companies. Braspag has just been acquired by the Silvio Santos Group, which will incorporate it to its differentiated service platform for Brazilian clients. The transaction value was R$ 25 million, and entails 100% of Braspag's shares. The latter was founded in 2005, being the Brazilian market leader in on-line transaction processing, boasting clients such as Dell, B2W (Submarino and Americanas.com), Ricardo Eletro, Tok Stok and Mercado Livre in its portfolio, in addition to units in Mexico, Chile and Argentina.

For Ideiasnet's president, Luis Reátegui, the gradual divestment and investment of the group's portfolio companies comprises the strategy of the company, which has partial and/or full ownership in 17 other businesses. "I believe that, in addition to proving the quality of the companies we have a stake in, the completion of this sale leaves Ideiasnet even more capitalized for new sales and acquisitions", points out Mr. Reátegui, stating that the amount received from Braspag's sale will be directed to future projects. "Profitability is an important point for an agile company such as Ideiasnet. Thus, the R$ 6.1 million acquired from the 25% stake sale shall be driven to new investments. Several opportunities are well in the pipeline for new acquisitions", explains the executive. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of the investment made in Braspag, stood at 162.6% per year, and Ideasnet received the equivalent of 26.2x the amount invested in 4 years.

The Silvio Santos Group will keep Braspag's team, as well as its independent management, with the Group's holding accompanying it. In 2008, Braspag's intermediated 5.5 million transactions, which moved R$ 2.9 billion. In 2009, the number of transactions should reach 8.5 billion, representing an operation of R$ 3.8 billion. For Svante Wester Berg, Braspag's director, "the Silvio Santos Group has arrived at an excellent moment. Now, we can count on the institutional support of one the largest entrepreneurial groups in the country, and secure access to new markets. This union shall certainly bring benefits to both."
