Technology:

The DWDM – Dense Wavelength Multiplexing – comprises an ultrahigh capacity data transmission system through which information is transmitted in specific wavelengths – also called “colors” or optical channels. These multiple colors share the same optical fiber, thereby increasing the fiber’s transmission capacity – the Padtec-manufactured equipment can transmit up to 1600 Gb/s through a single fiber. The transponder comprises the unit which “colors” the information. In a more technical language, it is the unit which transposes the data wave length.
